Muslims Boycott of USA & Israel

Muslims are actively boycotting USA & Israeli products & services

I do not need to tell you about the fact that Muslims are Boycotting USA & Israel, because all I need to do is quote their own words which are directly quoted here from this document, which is one of many I could have chosen:

TITLE:   International Journal of Business and Social Science  Vol. 1 No. 3; December 2010
PAGES:  245 – 248

5.5 Product Boycott

Another implementation of the halalan tayyiba concept, Sabasun has taken an out of the box approach away from the established norms of hypermarket retailers.
Where maximizing profit and reducing cost have always been the goal, Sabasun has clearly taken a different path.
Boycotting products that are associated with the United States of America or the State of Israel is an approach engaged in with the certain aims

a. As a new form of education so that Muslim are trained to be free from the clutches of the enemy of Islam.

b. As an emphasis on the spirit of Muslim brotherhood and unity whom are not pleased to conspire against their Muslim brothers.

c. As a statement of dissatisfaction against American foreign policy through exercising their purchasing power.
The mechanism of the boycott is categorised into three stages due to consumers’ dependence on and need for particular products.

Boycotting Products is carried out by12:

a. Campaign
Multimedia advertisement campaign is shown through 24 units of projector televisions that are installed all over the building.

b. Protest Letter
Sabasun has sent protest letters to a few giant companies such as Nestle, in relation to their involvement with Israel through big scale investment in industries on occupied Palestinian land.

c. Pamphlets
Sabasun has printed a few pamphlets and distributed to customers to help create awareness on the need to help Muslim brothers in ways that they can.

d. Full boycott
Among the products that are fully boycotted are Pepsi, Coca Cola, Dunhill, Marlboro, Dentyne etc.

e. Limited sales floor area or partial boycott
Among the products in this category are Nestle, Colgate Palmolive, P&G, Unilever etc.
Sabasun management is in the opinion that there is a need to carry out this boycott because every cent that is spent by customers for a particular product will contribute towards these companies economic growth.

This economic advantage, in turn, is used to sponsor terror and killing in Islamic countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
When product boycott was carried out by consumers in the Middle East and some in the European countries, sales of these companies is reported to be decreased by 10% and this amounted to big numbers for giant companies.
Thus, it is a rational for Muslim especially in Malaysia to take similar action. Furthermore, Of late, many other products are available as an alternative for the boycotted products.
For example, we have Mukmin toothpaste instead of Colgate etc. and Fab or Breeze could be replaced with Daiya, Puteri Emas etc.
There are a few questions arise in regard to the boycott such as how effective is the approach and why not botcotting all the products altogether.
In answering these questions, Sabasun has reiterated to look at collapse of the apartheid regime in South Africa as the best example.
To answer the question in regard to why not boycotting all the products altogether, Sabasun has taken an approach to do what can be done when one cannot do all. Hence, a few products that are really needed by consumers are offered on a limited floor space and no promotion is done for the product. While products that are boycott completely will not even get space on the shelves let alone floor space.
During the early phase after the campaign was in progress, the effect of the boycott is very obvious when Sabasun suffer a loss of nearly RM150,000.  Despite the fact, according to Che Salmi, they hold on to the holy Qur’an verse 3 of chapter al-Talaq (Divorce):

This is a portion of the entire surah.

Surat Aţ-Ţalāq (The Divorce) –

 سورة الطلاق

Sahih International

And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah . That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out

Sahih International

And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.

ويرزقه من حيث لا يحتسب ومن يتوكل على الله فهو حسبه إن الله بالغ أمره قد جعل الله لكل شيء قدرا

And He provides for him from (sources) he could never imagine. And if anyone puts his trust in Allah,
sufficient is (Allah) for him. For Allah will surely accomplish his purpose: verily, for all things has Allah
appointed a due proportion.
(65:3 Yusuf Ali translation)

The attitude is evident when the companies whose products were granted limited floor space have reapplied to increase the floor size and willing to pay higher fees but Sabasun has not budged with the decision.

6. Conclusion

The halalan tayyiba principle is one of the shari’ah rule intended to protect the decency of human life as to promote best dietary habit granted by Allah SWT.

This principle has been practised openly and with full awareness by Sabasun. Although incurring loss and with reduced profit at the beginning but in the end, Sabasun management has managed to break even and made profit by focusing on existing products and continuously become the customers focal point.

The halalan tayyiba concept must be understood integratively by way of its’ internal and external aspect. It is important that this concept be absolutely understood as it is a standard to measure quality of consumerism. It has to be applied in the field of consumerism by all parties involved whether it is consumer, government, manufacturer, supplier or businessman. However, there are not many of those in the production or manufacturing business are giving consideration to it. From marketing point of view, Sabasun has single handedly introduced a few distintive steps in boycoting products from Israel and the United States of America in retaliation /consideration of injustice to the Palestinian especially and to the Muslim countries in general such as Iraq and Afghanistan by limiting the shelf space and choosing not to offer or sell those products all together even though they are commonly available in the market. Resulted from a sense of brotherhood, struggle and reliance on Allah SWT, Sabasun has taken a risk that will not be taken by any other big scale hypermarket retailer. Thus, the concept of halalan tayyiba has been in practice in full speed (the maximum) at the Sabasun premise and it can serve as a model to other businessmen who have similar aspiration.

UPDATE 2016:

BDS isn’t pro-Palestinian – it is simply anti-Israel.

BDS hypocrites want her out of a job
BDS hypocrites want her out of a job

If proof that Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs want to work peacefully together was needed, then this video shows just that.
It is an advert published on February 20, 2016 pleading not to boycott Israel, and not to boycott peace, but keep the hope alive!
You can view it here:

SodaStream. An Island of Peace
SodaStream. An Island of Peace

Outcome of the BDS (Boycotts, Divestment & Sanctions) Campaign
Sadly, due to all those who support the BDS campaign, hundreds of Arab Palestinian workers have been left unemployed after the Israeli SodaStream factory where they worked were forced to move out of what the world calls ‘the West Bank’ – Judea and Samaria – and set up a new factory in Israel’s Negev Desert following an international boycott campaign.
So was this a BDS success for all those who support this action such as the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, or the Scottish Green Party, or those who backed the Methodist Church BDS campaigns? It would be interesting to know if those within the UK who stand with this offensive BDS machine are actually in employment. It would then be interesting to know how they feel having campaigned so strongly against what they would class as “Apartheid Israel”.
It would be interesting to know how they feel about making the very people they are supposed to be “supporting”, to be forced out of work as the 500 Arab Palestinians have lost their jobs after the factory was forced to move.

Daniel Birnbaum, chief executive of SodaStream International, said the last 74 Palestinian workers left at the beginning of March 2016.
“We gave them an opportunity to work,” he told Israel’s Channel 2 TV, calling Palestinians the main victims of the boycott movement.
The BDS movement seeks to ostracise Israel by lobbying corporations, artists and academic institutions to sever ties with the Jewish state.
Supporters say the boycott is aimed at furthering Palestinian aspirations for independence, and that their efforts are modelled on an earlier campaign against apartheid South Africa. However, by stating the BDS efforts are modelled on an earlier campaign against apartheid South Africa is the biggest insult one can make to Black South Africans, as you will see here if you watch the following film clip.

So, is Israel an “apartheid state,” as its BDS campaigners claim? Who better to answer that charge than a Black South African who lived through apartheid? Kenneth Meshoe, a member of the South African parliament, fits that bill. He examines the evidence against Israel and draws a compelling conclusion.

They’re boycotting American and Israeli products with or without a halal marking. Companies are going after Muslim consumers that don’t participate in that boycott.

You’re boycotting due to hate. Why don’t you just admit it. You are a coward bigot.

    • May 25, 2013 at 4:51 am

No… we are just stating facts.
There has been a call for muslims to participate in an organised boycott of Israeli & American products for years.
Now we are organising a boycott of halal certified products, because we are not Followers of Islam and we do not require any halal certificates or products which have ingredients that include Ritually Slaughtered meat that has been dedicated to a foreign idol – allah – or its halal bi-products.
We have no objection regarding the Followers of Islam having halal certified products if they want them… but what we say is:
Muslims must pay for halal certificates if they want them – Not us. It is very wrong to dupe non-muslims into paying for halal certificates when they do not require them.
Eg. Why is ANDREX Toilet Paper halal certified? Why is PURINA Cat Food halal certified? Why are all GM products halal certified? Why are the recipes of brands that are traditionally sold in Non-Islamic countries being changed to be halal compliant? Eg. Cadburys, Mars & Nestle Chocolate?
If muslims want halal certified products they can have them, but Non-Muslims – who are the 75% majority in this world, do not require them and should not be hoodwinked into paying for them. All halal certified products should have something like an ‘RS’ label which denotes ‘RELIGIOUS STANDARD’ or ‘RITUALLY SLAUGHTERED’ when it comes to meat & its bi-products.
We say that there should be a government imposed labelling system that reveals what is halal certified and what is not, because people have a right to make informed choices when they go shopping. We call for more transparency in labelling – which would inform both muslims & non-muslims what they are paying for when they do their weekly shop or eat out.

What we are saying is that we are NOT Followers of Islam and therefore do not require halal products or services at all… or the haram cast off meat… and it raises tension when we find out that we have been tricked into buying products that are halal certified.
We have no objection to Muslims having halal certificates if they want them… as long as they PAY for them NOT us.
That is why we object to the World Halal Forum and Halal Authorities deciding that they will send out halal mainstream when it is not required.
We are Non-muslims in a Non-islamic country and we do not require or want halal certified products or services.
We really dislike finding out when we go out for a meal that we have in fact been tricked into buying halal food.
We don’t want Fake Ham on our Pizza. We don’t want halal meat at all… ever.
I do not want meat that has been dedicated to a foreign God… it is Against my Christian religion… it is Forbidden for me to eat meat that has been tampered with in this way.
In Britain we want to uphold British traditions and Judeo-Christian values and it seems that the Quran says that Muslims Do NOT Require Halal Food in Non-Muslim Countries!
Islam has laws regarding which foods can and cannot be eaten and also on the proper method of slaughtering an animal for consumption, known as dhabihah.
However if there is no halal food available then a Muslim is allowed to eat non-halal food.
Surah 2:173 states: “…if there is no other choice, …there is no sin in him.”
Surah 5:5 is the abrogated text that makes this even clearer when it says QUOTE:
Surat Al-Mā’idah (The Table Spread) – سورة المائدة
‘This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture [People of the Book – Jews & Christians] is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them.’

According to what LAW is it Lawful to eat all good foods if halal is not available?
Answer = According to SHARIAH LAW!
Only 4.5% of British Consumers are Muslim and want to follow Sharia Law… so we have a duty to uphold British traditions and Judeo-Christian values for the 95%+ majority who do not want of need halal.

        • November 11, 2014 at 3:13 pm

What we are saying is we are not going to pay the terrorist tax and there are tons of things considered Halal but companies that submit to the tax get taken off the list.
That is why I only eat Lindt Chocolate.

  • May 30, 2013 at 5:37 pm

I don’t understand why a non food product would need a Halal certification. I fail to see the point in it.

Again, I say that companies have a right to target whatever market they want and they decide how the costs will be passed on or not. When you own Cadburys then you can put all the delicious lard you want it your chocolate. 25% is a huge market.

  • August 8, 2013 at 4:06 pm

Just came across this article and your blogs in general…..firstly the halal certification doesn’t cost much, you just have to ensure that the conditions are halal and they are not just limited to how the animal is slaughtered. what is wrong if you are getting a choice and why not explore if halal foods might be scientifically good to you.
just because you hate a religion doesn’t mean you can not acquire their best practices.

    • September 4, 2013 at 4:10 am

Yaser – have you read and understood our articles? Our argument is not hateful… it seeks for 21st Century TRUTH; and in that endeavour we are finding in all honesty that our Freedom of Choice IS being eroded in Non-islamic countries!
We do not want halal certification or pay one penny or cent towards it.
We are for Freedom of Choice and therefore have no objection to muslims having halal and creating their halal certificates… as long as they PAY for it – NOT us!
We are NOT followers of islam and we, along with over 75% of the world’s population, do not require halal products or services at all.
Halal Foods & halal non-food products are NOT scientifically good at all – many are manufactured using Ritually Slaughtered animal bi-products from animals that undergo unnecessary cruelty at the time of slaughter. This was proved in a Four Year Study of Ritual Slaughter that was carried out by Scientists from many European countries for the EU and they came to the conclusion, in 2010, that halal Ritual Slaughter is unnecessarily cruel.
Their findings are fully explained in this paper… a Full Scientific Report that was appointed by the EU into Ritual Slaughter…
      Veterinary Concerns
See also this Video which was made by the same Leading European Scientists during their Study and it clearly Condemns HALAL RITUAL SLAUGHTER WITHOUT STUNNING
This outrage is the recommended “best practice” slaughter procedure according to many leading Halal Authorities and this unnecessary cruelty is going on DAILY in many countries of the world – in the name of islam.
Halal Authorities say there is no evidence that cutting an animals throat while fully conscious, then hanging it to bleed slowly to death is cruel – but clearly there is!

  • April 19, 2014 at 7:55 am

Not to mention kosher in the same breath as halal? Your site smacks of double standards, alas.

    • April 19, 2014 at 7:48 pm

How easy it is to just ignore all the differences between Shechita [kosher] & Dhabīḥah (ذَبِيْحَة) [halal] – it is worth looking at all the differences before you judge halal & kosher to be the same…
At the slaughter of an unstunned animal, the aim in a Jewish abattoir is that the throat cut will kill the animal outright… but that is not the case for muslims who purposely aim for the animal to be conscious throughout, because they believe that is necessary for the animal to be alive & conscious to ensure that the heart is pumping so that it bleeds out properly during exsanguination –
      BUT this is not true.
The EU funded Diarel Report [2010] which was a 4 year study of Religious Slaughter by vets from most EU countries and Prof.Grandin’s studies and other recent research evidence all confirm that after the brain death of an animal, the heart can continue beating for minutes – enough time to bleed the animal out properly.
In UK most Jewish groups now allow an immediate Post Slaughter Fatal Stun Cut if the animal did not die with the throat cut… but Muslims are not allowed to use a post stun cut at all.
Muslims are employed in a religious ‘ritual’ for halal, which is not the case for Jews… for Jews it is a religious ‘procedure’ for kosher.
For HALAL: The slaughter must be performed by a Muslim male (no training is necessary!) – means that non-Muslims are driven out of the industry by Muslims. It is a self-employment scheme for Muslims Only, which causes marginalisation of workers in the meat industry in whatever country they operate. Also a good Muslim business will donate to Muslim charities which mean funding for jihad, which of course does not apply to the kosher processing.
For KOSHER: Every Jewish Slaughterman has to do a SEVEN YEAR APPRENTICESHIP before they are allowed to apply for their first Slaughterman’s Licence – compare that to the fact that any muslim male can slaughter an animal with no training at all… in UK the most training will be HALF A DAY, then he learns by practice on the slaughterhouse floor… this is why most, if not all, halal slaughterhouses are Registered Charities – registered as Educational Establishments!
The muslim must precede the slaughter by facing the animal to Mecca and invoking the name of Allah, most commonly by saying “Bismillah” (“In the name of Allah”) and then three times “Allahu akbar” (God is the greatest).
For KOSHER there is no ritual at all… no turning of the animal to face Jerusalem & no prayer over the animal at all.
For HALAL the animal must be slaughtered with a sharp knife by, cutting the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides together with the trachea and oesophagus but leaving the spinal cord intact.
NOTE: The Knife used by muslims is too small (and causes pain if the hand touches the cut) according to Prof.Grandin who says it should be twice the size of the neck of the animal… like the one used for Kosher!
Furthermore the method of Sharpening the halal knife is too noisy according to Prof.Grandin, who recommends that muslims sharpen it after every use by using a whetstone, as used by Jews, because that will not be noisy and frighten the awaiting animal.
The blood from the veins must be drained and No Post Stun cut is allowed for halal for any reason eg. even if the animal is in obvious distress.
For Jews animal welfare is paramount, so the aim is for the cut to kill the animal outright and if it doesn’t, it is becoming more & more acceptable now for an immediate (& fatal) Post Stun cut to be performed to prevent undue suffering.
Muslims say that they must also ensure that all foods (particularly processed foods), as well as non-food items like cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, are halal. We are increasingly finding that halal animal bi-products & halal additives are replacing the traditional ingredients in products to make them permissible for Muslims to eat or use on their bodies.
At Boycott Halal we have a MEAT WATCH Panel countrywide and we and make a distinction between Halal & Kosher, because in over 5 years of checking the EU Meat Codes in supermarkets throughout the UK we have not yet found ONE instance of meat or poultry that traces back to a kosher abattoir; BUT EVERY TIME We Check We DO Find EU Meat Codes on meat & poultry that trace back to Halal Slaughterhouses.
The differences in sheer numbers of animals slaughtered is also an important factor… with only about 250,000 Jews in UK, we are talking about hundreds of thousands of animals & poultry; compare this with the hundreds of millions slaughtered for the 3 million muslims in Britain who are also slaughtering animals & poultry for export.
The most important difference is the intentions of the Jewish and the muslim communities.
The Jews are wanting kosher foods for their own community – they do not aim at producing more & more until we are all buying and eating kosher… there is no attempt to proselytise at all. Conversely, the declared aim of the World Halal Organisation in Britain is that Halal is aimed mainstream in UK, then Europe and then the World.

  • May 21, 2016 at 8:24 am

This is very interesting reading which supports what I already suspected.
In Australia the muslims are pressing for legally recognised sharia law. There was one case of a 12 year old girl whose father married her off to a muslim brother who kept sending her to public school. Someone at the school noticed she was behaving oddly and found out she had been sexually assaulted then her husband was taken to court. We have muslim schools in this country and there could be more such cases.
Muslims want us to eat halal food now but in the future will want 12 year old wives – this is not christian or jewish custom and is far more serious.

Terrorism is not about food or the middle east – its about muslim men’s rights to marry 12 year old girls!!!
